NINE STRANDS

Nine Strands was a subversive streetwear line born in 2011, the dawn of the mainstream streetwear movement. We rose to prominence with cutting edge graphics on high quality garments and extreme attention to detail. I led graphic design, product design, manufacturing and marketing – including the legendary “Standhandlers” campaign. Between 2011 and 2014, Nine Strands was everywhere and although we’re no longer actively selling, we’re still widely recognized as one of the most game changing Bay Area streetwear lines to come out of that important era.

Marketing Campaigns

Included our now famous “Standhandlers” stunt. We donated hundreds of our “Nothing is Free” shirts to homeless men and women who then sold them at high traffic street corners throughout San Francisco. The city’s homeless earned some money while acting as influencers for our brand. Nothing more street than that.
